Abel Tasman and Golden Bay in One Day:
Excellent Day in Golden Bay
What a fantastic day out exploring Golden Bay. Karin and Katherine were very knowledgeable of the area and answered all my questions, all day long. It was really enjoyable going on three walks during the day, each was short and of different views. I can now say I’ve seen Farewell Spit, that was fascinating to me. Takaka township was unique, we had lunch in a once cinema and looked at craft shops before heading to the springs which was just so beautiful and clear. Lovely drive, so much to see. The van was comfortable with air conditioning too, it got hot during the afternoon. The boat from Kaiteriteri to Totaranui was excellent, beautiful golden sand and the skipper did great commentary of all our stops.

Abel Tasman and Golden Bay in One Day
We took my parents to the tour and had such a wonderful time for our Christmas eve. Karin was so friendly, organised and the communication was great, all questions got answered clearly. Places visited were very interesting especially with Karin’s local knowledge. It was a small focused group and I would recommend this to anyone who wanted to have a relax but unique experience in Abel Tasman and Golden Bay area.

We had a great time with Tasman tours along with our parents. The tour was well arranged and was flexible to show tourist spots as per my parents need. Parents were really happy to have such nice cooperative guide who was always keen to provide information on each spot of trip.
On the 8th of December we did a fabulous tour with Karin to the top of the south ireland, Farewell Spit. Karin is a fantastic tour-guide with a lot of very interesting knowledge about the surrounding area. We got to see seals at Wharariki Beach at one of the unique bays and were even able to get very close to them, which was one of my absolute favorites! On our way back we’ve had lunch in Takaka, a beautiful little town with nice little shops which are perfect to find gifts or buy yourself something handmade. Further we stopped at Pupu-Springs, a holy Maori place and as Karin told us, the richest springs on the southern hemisphere. This was incredible as we’ve never seen such clear water before. Definitely a must do in New Zealand! All in all we were stunning all day and really enjoyed this adventure. Especially because Karin could tell us so many special stories with local input, information you won’t find a typical tourist guide! We can highly recommend Karin to everyone! Thanks a lot for a wonderful and unique day Karin 🙂

It was an enjoyable wine tour with Karin from Tasman Tours, visiting 4 nice wineries in Riwaka and Upper Moutere including a tasty lunch. Good wine presentation and insight into the varieties of grapes, vines and soil. Recommendable.
-Nice Wine Tour-
We booked a wine tasting tour at Tasman Tours. Our guide, Karin, took us to really great places. The different wineries, like the wines, were unique. The wines were exquisite and outstanding. There was something extraordinary for every taste. Karin has proved to be an excellent connoisseur of the scene. Thanks to her, the New Zealand wine scene is now much more familiar to us. And we have discovered even more beauties of the Nelson region.
Anyone who wants to experience the Golden Bay and the Nelson region from an extraordinary side should contact Tasman Tours. Its worth every penny.
“Great service and a brilliant day out to Golden Bay – Wharariki Beach – Farewell Spit
We are two Brits who wanted to go to the most northerly part of the south island so booked a tour at the local I-site (it is cheaper if you book direct but we found this out later). Karin collected us from our campsite at 9 am and we were the only travellers that day. Karin was friendly and professional and even knew that we had expressed interest in visiting the salmon farm on route so said there would be time for this. We drove to Cape Farewell with Karin sharing local knowledge about the Abel Tasman national park, vineyards, orchards etc.. She took us to viewpoints so we could take photos and we stopped for coffee at Cape Farewell and admire Farewell Spit. She then took us to the amazing Wharariki Beach. This has become my favourite beach. The country walk to the beach is past green fields and hills with inquisitive sheep before approaching sand dunes and then the most picturesque beach..golden sand, huge and fascinating rock formations. After walking a while we saw baby seal pups playing in a rock pool. Just amazing.
Karin then drove us to Te Whaikoropupu Springs – incredible blue, clear waters that bubble up from the earth below. She then took us to the salmon farm where did not catch anything but was fun. She then took us for a quick beer tasting at local boutique brewery called the Hop Federation before dropping us back to our campsite at Motueka at 6 pm.
Highly recommend Tasman Tours. Karin is lovely and we just enjoyed the day, the experience and her company taking us to places we may not have found for ourselves.”
“There is something awfully satisfying about enjoying wines where the grapes were grown whilst gazing out to the bay in which your fish was caught fresh that morning.”
“I had no idea it was possible to experience so many landscapes in one Day! Incredible! We would never have achieved that by ourselves.”
“You’ll be in awe of the natural surroundings whilst savouring absolutely world class wines. Our guides local and industry knowledge was absolutely impressive.”
